occupational therapy + yoga

connecting

Occupational Therapy is a regulated health-care profession that supports people of all ages.  OT’s assess, adapt, treat and support the physical, environmental and social factors that impact a person’s ability to participate in their self-care, work, school and leisure activities.

Yoga means “union” or “to join” and through movement (asana), breath (pranayama) and meditation supports the connection between one’s physical, mental and spiritual/energetic layers.  Yoga has deep philosophical and cultural roots from India and other Eastern traditions and has been practiced for thousands of years.  In more recent years, yoga has been shown through a more western medical lens and research to have numerous health care benefits in persons of all ages.

My passion is to combine the wisdom, knowledge, practices and approaches of OT and Yoga to support your wellness and help build your ‘tool kit’ for living your best life.

your mind, body + spirit

Life can be busy, fast, noisy and uncomfortable.  We push to keep up and keep going.  Load builds through life events, work, school, illness, trauma, grief, injury and everyday stressors. It’s understandable that our bodies ache, emotions flare, we lose sleep, our minds race and we may feel exhausted.  Eventually we stop when we “hit the wall”, “burn out” or are forced by illness.

I get it…I’ve been there and there is another way.

It’s possible to do LESS and feel BETTER.  With guidance, you can learn to tune into your movement, notice your breath, learn to regulate your nervous system, reduce pain and feel your emotions without being hijacked.

You can build ease, resilience and stability.

Slow down and in the process, you’ll do more.  â€‹
